Billing Procedures

A) All Water Users of the District shall read their own meters and remit payment without notice, unless such Water Users are notified by the District that their readings are automatic (the District being in the process of transitioning to automated meter reading). All Water Users which are required to read their own water meter shall do so between the 1st and 5th of each month, and remit payment of the water bill not later than the 5^th day of the month as set forth in the District’s Bylaws. If any meter reading required hereunder and the appropriate payment are not received by the 16^th of the month, the account becomes delinquent and will result in the following: District field personnel will be sent to read the Water User’s meter and the account will be assessed such meter reading service charge and late fee then in effect, which the District’s Board of Directors may vary from time to time . A statement of charges due will then be mailed to the Water User’s current address of record. Failure to receive notice shall not excuse the obligation to promptly pay charges due. If the Water User’s account is not brought current by the 1^st of the following month, including payment of any service charge and late fee then due, then the meter is subject to disconnection without further notice.

B) In those instances where the District has notified a Water User that the District will provide automated meter reading, then such users will generally receive a bill from the District around the 5^th of the month following the month in which water service was provided. It is the Water User’s responsibility to contact the District if the bill is not received by the 10^th of the month and inquire as to charges then due. Bills not paid by the 16^th of the month during which the bill is rendered will be charged such late fee then in effect, which the District’s Board of Directors may vary from time to time. If the account is not brought current by the 1^st of the following month, the meter is subject to disconnection without further notice.
